|Trail closure at Heritage Park to take place starting Oct. 22|
Portions of the loop trail around Heritage Park Lake will be closed for approximately two weeks beginning today, Johnson County Park & Recreation District officials announced.
Closed is approximately 0.7 miles of pedestrian trail on the west side of the main lake at Heritage Park as well as two small sections of trail adjacent to the park's marina on the east side. These portions of trail are being removed by Rieke Brothers Construction and replaced by Updike Asphalt. Officials said this project represents the first of three phases through which the entire loop trail will be replaced over the next two years.
