|Ages 4-6 can explore five science themes at new Mad Science Learning Lab beginning Oct. 13|
The October program is called Learning Lab II and is for ages four through six. Each of the five weekly one-hour session which make up this lab has a different theme. In Color Lab, ROY G. BIV will help participants explore colors. In Eye to Eye, we'll gaze into the mystery of sight. In Keep in Touch, participants will learn how our sense of touch allows unique insights into the world around us. In Lights On, participants will capture their shadow, mix colors, and discover the properties of white light. In the final program, Listen Closely, young scientists will study how sound is created and moves around us. Each session ends with 15 minutes of story time. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under preschool and then under hobbies & special interests. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword "discovery.”
Learning Lab II will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday beginning Oct. 13 at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood, Roeland Park. The cost for five one-hour sessions is $63 per child or Johnson County residents or $69 per child for nonresidents.
