|New Cake Walk and Talk is Oct. 8 at New Century Fieldhouse|
Come take part in an old-fashioned cakewalk during an early October special event being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
Cake Walk and Talk is the name of the event. Participants will try their luck at winning everything from locally-made cakes and cupcakes to store-bought snack cakes. We will play until all the treats are gone, but you don't have to play every time. Just come and talk with friends if you like. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under special events. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “social event.”
Cake Walk and Talk will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, at the New Century Fieldhouse located at 551 New Century Parkway, just minutes off of Interstate 35's Gardner exit. The cost for one two-hour event is $7 per person.
The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the District's website at www.jcprd.com.
