|1950's Hollywood is theme for 50 Plus Senior Prom on Sept. 28 at LCC|
1950's Hollywood is the theme of a Senior Prom being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
The event will take place on Friday, Sept. 28 at the Lenexa Community Center, 13420 Oak, Lenexa, and will be an opportunity for participants to dance the night away to a mix of melodies from the 1930’s, 40’s, and 50’s performed live by the Kick’s Band. The setting will be the scene of a Hollywood party circa 1950. Don’t miss out on contests and drawings to win fabulous prizes. Dress like Hollywood royalty of the era like Marilyn or Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor or Lawrence Olivier. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under special events. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “dance.”
Senior Prom will begin at 7 p.m. The cost for this two-hour event is $8 per person until Sept. 25 or $10 at the door.
While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus program are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the District's website at www.jcprd.com.
