|KC Symphony’s annual free Community Concert is Labor Day at The Theatre in the Park|
The parking lot opens at 4:30 p.m. and the symphony's Instrument Petting Zoo opens at 5:30 p.m. Kids will enjoy this pre-concert activity where trained musicians help youngsters try their hands at a variety of orchestral instruments. At 7 p.m., the orchestra takes the stage for a concert featuring patriotic and familiar classics - from Stars and Stripes Forever to Hungarian dances. Bring your family and friends, plus blankets and lawn chairs.
Each year, this free community concert attracts thousands from around the metropolitan area and provides the opportunity to hear the Kansas City Symphony in a relaxed, outdoor setting. Sponsors for this year's concert include the Bank of Kansas City and radio stations 99.7 The Point, and 106.5 The Wolf. Visit kcsymphony.org for more information.
