|Heritage Park Off-leash Area to be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 7|
The full-day closure is an extension of the usual weekly Tuesday maintenance closure from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. JCPRD Landscape Architect said a rock trail from the area's pond to the north gate is being paved and the entire area is being closed for dog's and patrons' safety because under current weather conditions, it will take up to eight hours for the asphalt to fully cool. The off-leash area will return to its regular schedule on Wednesday, Aug. 8
Heritage Park is owned and operated by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District and is located at 16050 Pflumm Road, Olathe. Regular summer park hours are 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily through Oct. 31.
