Traffic will be restricted during Heritage Park Duathlon & Triathlon on May 13
POSTED: 04/27/2012

In order to make this a safe event for spectators and participants, the majority of Heritage Park, including the Off-Leash Dog Area, the marina area, and the football and soccer complexes, will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 5 a.m. to noon on the morning of the triathlon. Heritage Park Golf Course and the Heritage Park Soccer Park will still be accessible via Lackman Road during this time.

Athletes and spectators will be allowed to go in the park's east entrance near 160th and Pfulumm until approximately 7 a.m. After that time, the entrance and a portion of Pflumm will be closed for the biking segment of the event and those wishing to park will be directed to a grassy field south of 159th street west of Pflumm near the park's maintenance compound. From there, it is a short walk to the race area.
The Heritage Park Duathlon and Triathlon is a special event of the Johnson County Park &Recreation District and is sponsored by: BikeSource, Smoothie Factory, Radio Stations 810 WHB and Hot Talk AM 1510, Tri-KC Triathlon Club, and KC Multisport, Velvet Crème Popcorn, Speedo, Roberts Dairy, and the Olathe Marriott Hotel. Proceeds from the triathlon and duathlon will benefit the Kansas City Blazers Competitive Swim Team.
