|Nature Center to benefit from May 1 event at Whole Foods Market|
Shop at the Whole Foods Market at 6621 W. 119th St., Overland Park, on Thursday, May 1, and benefit the animals in and around Johnson County Park & Recreation District’s Ernie Miller Nature Center in Olathe.
The local grocery store has designated this date as a “community giving day” for the nature center and has pledged to donate five percent of the day’s net sales to the facility. Whole Foods stores conduct these days several times a year to benefit local nonprofit or educational organizations.
This will be the third year the store has conducted a giving day for the nature center. As in past years, the proceeds from this event will be used towards care of the nature center’s program animals, including feed, cleaning, and veterinary care.
From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on May 1 at the Whole Foods store, Ernie Miller Nature Center staff will have live animals and information about a new exhibit room opening soon at the nature center. Whole Foods is open from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Ernie Miller Nature Center is located at 909 N. Kansas-7 Highway, Olathe, and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
