Crystal Bridges Revisited day trip offered on April 25
POSTED: 04/03/2014

Visit the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art with a late April day trip being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.

Upon arriving in Bentonville, Ark., participants will start with lunch at the River Grille and then go on to the museum to a guided tour and overview of this fabulous facility. Explore the extensive collection featuring American art from the Colonial Era to contemporary works. See painting and sculptures by such well-known artists as Georgia O-Keefe, Andy Warhol, Norman Rockwell, Jackson Pollock, and Andrew Wyeth. Admire the museum's unique architecture and stroll through the wooded grounds that unites art with nature. Participants will also receive a ticket to the William Paley special exhibit featuring the CBS founder's modern collection.

To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 plus and then under travel. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “day trip.”

This trip will leave at 6:30 a.m. on Friday, April 25, from Antioch Park 6501 Antioch, Merriam, and return at approximately 8:30 p.m. that night. The cost is $95 per person and includes lunch.

While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.

The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the District's website at www.jcprd.com.
