|New Art in the Park program for young children and parents offered on April 16 & 23|
Young children and a parent can meet new friends, play in the park, and make an art project during a new program being offered twice in mid-April by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
Art in the Park is the name of this program, which is for ages one to five with a parent. Participants will meet in the park in late morning. All supplies will be provided for a variety of ages to create a fun project. Participants are invited to bring lunch and enjoy the park afterwards in preparation for a great afternoon naptime!
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under preschool and then under fine & performing arts. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “art.”
Art in the Park is offered twice during April, with both sessions beginning at 11 a.m. on a Wednesday. One session will take place on April 16 at Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam, while the other will take place on April 23 at Prairie Village's Franklin Park, 4798 W. 88th St. The cost for either 30-minute session $5 per child for Johnson County residents or $6 per child for nonresidents.
The JCPRD’s Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. For updated program listings, see the District’s website at www.jcprd.com.
