|Prepare for summer swimming with new spring stroke clinic beginning April 13|
The Stingrays Swim Team has previously been strictly a summer program, but a new offering beginning in mid-April will give youth a chance to improve in advance of the summer swim season.
Jump into Spring with the Stingrays is the name of this new Johnson County Park & Recreation District offering, which is for ages five through 18 and will take place at the Roeland Park Aquatic Center, 4850 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park.
This new six-week training program will let participants work with coaches to improve on starts, turns, stroke development, drills, and endurance. This will be an excellent opportunity for swimmers to get ready for the summer season.
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under youth and then under aquatics. In the printed catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “stroke clinic.”
Jump into Spring with the Stingrays will meet at 2:30 p.m. Sunday beginning April 13. The cost for six 60-minute sessions is $40 for Johnson County residents or $45 for nonresidents. There will be no class on Easter Sunday, April 20.
The JCPRD Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. To register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online or for updated program listings, visit the district’s website at www.jcprd.com.
