|50 Plus plans Kansas City Royals Opening Day Party on March 31|
Come root, root, root for the home team during an opening day party for the Kansas City Royals being planned by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
This event will take place on Monday, March 31, at the Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty, Overland Park. Participants will celebrate this year's opening day with a hot dog and Cracker Jacks® while competing in a Royals trivia contest. Then we'll watch the game on the big screen in the hearth room.
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under special events. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “social event.”
This program will take place beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 31. The cost for this four-hour event is $7 per person. Those planning to attend are asked to register by March 24 by calling (913) 642-6410.
While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to register by April 1 online at www.jcprd.com or by calling district's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
The JCPRD Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more updated listings, go to the district's website at www.jcprd.com.
