|Learn about 2012 destinations when JCPRD presents a 50 Plus Travel Show on Feb. 2|
During this free three-hour event, participants will learn about the exciting trips, including day trips and extended trips, which JCPRD has to offer. Preview presentations will be given for upcoming trips, including previously-announced trips to northern California; Canada's Atlantic Coast; an American Spirit Family Discovery trip to Philadelphia and Washington, DC; a Rhine River cruise including stops in Holland, Germany, and France; and a trip to South America's "Avenue of the Volcanoes." Upcoming day trips include jaunts to visit the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and the Kansas City Star,; Andre's Confiserie Suisse, The Roasterie, and Chip's Chocolate Factory; and the Toy and Miniature Museum and the Moon Marble Company.
The Travel Show will take place beginning at 1 p.m. at the Atonement Lutheran Church, 9948 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park. Perform a catalog search for the keyword "travel" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.
While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
