|Ernie Miller Nature Center’s Sunday Family Series begins Jan. 8|
The Ernie Miller Nature Center is owned and operated by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District and is located at 909 N. Kansas 7 Highway, Olathe.
January presentations will include:
Jan. 8: Hungry Birds – Winter in Kansas is a great time to view and feed our feathered friends. Juncos, finches, and waxwings are among common winter birds. Participants will learn about the best kind of food to attract birds and how to make suet cakes at home. If the weather permits, there will be a short bird hike.
Jan. 15: Snakes Alive - Why is it that these animals seem so terrifying? Could all the stories you have heard be true? See Kansas snakes and explore the facts and fallacies of these legless wonders.
Jan. 22: Nature Photography Fun - Photographing plants, animals and landscapes can be a great adventure. Beginning photographers will learn from photography enthusiasts and nature center volunteer Bill Araujo. See some amazing photos from the nature center, the Kansas City Zoo, Yellowstone National Park and Africa, and learn how to compose your own beautiful works of art.
