Two new triathlon training programs offered beginning in early January

Briktense is for the beginning to experienced triathlete and will focus on the swim and bike portions of triathlon training. Participants will need to bring their own bikes and stationary trainers. This program will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday beginning Jan. 3 at the Roeland Park Aquatics Center, 4843 Rosewood, Roeland Park. The cost for ten two-hour sessions is $149 per person for Johnson County residents or $164 per person for nonresidents. Perform a catalog search for the keywords "triathlon training" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.

The Traithlon Training program will focus primarily on the biking portion of triathlon. Core strengthening and some running will also be part of the program. Participants will need to bring their own bikes, stationary trainer, yoga or exercise mat, towel, and water bottle. This program will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday beginning Jan. 5 at the New Century Fieldhouse, 551 New Century Parkway, near Gardner. The cost for 11 two-hour sessions is $149 per person for Johnson County residents or $164 per person for nonresidents.
