Participants can join members of the color guard as they raise the flag and honor veterans. Veterans will eat free. For family members and members of the public, there will be a $5 charge for breakfast. A choral presentation by the Overland Stage Chorus will start right after breakfast. Followed by a viewing of the 100 Greatest Military Photos and Roy D. Shenkel, Prisoner of War and Purple Heart recipient, will reflect on his experience as a B17 crew member that was shot down. With the exception of breakfast for non-veterans, there is no charge for this two-hour program, but reservations are required and can be made by calling (913) 642-6410 by Nov. 3. Interpretive services and other accommodations for those with special needs are available and should be requested at time of registration.
