New Gnome Scavenger Hunt for all ages is Oct. 3 in Overland Park
POSTED: 09/07/2011
A day off from school provides a perfect opportunity to bring a child or grandchild and form a team of two to take part in a first-ever Gnome Scavenger Hunt being planned by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.

This program is for all ages and will take place on Monday, Oct. 3 at Santa Fe Commons Park, 8045 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park. Participants will meet at the park's gazebo and take part in the fun of hunting for 10 hidden little white-bearded men. Several gnomes will hold gift certificates, which will be awarded to the team that reaches them first. The team which finds all the gnomes will also win a prize. Fall treats and refreshments will be served afterwards. Search for the keywords "family fun" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.

This program will take place beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 3. The cost for this two-hour event is $7 per team member.

The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the District's website at
