|New Plein Air Painting class offered for adults beginning Oct. 1|
Learn to observe and capture what you see while painting outdoors during a new workshop being offered by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
The class is called Plein Air Painting Outdoors and is for ages 16 and older. Plein Air is a French expression which means “in the open air,” and is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors. Barbara O'Leary, an accomplished plein air artist, will share her experience to help participants capture mood, lighting, and atmosphere. Search for the key word "art" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities catalog and online listings.

The first class will meet in front of the Shawnee Mission Park's John Barkley Visitors' Center, 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee.
