|An Evening at Baltimore Bend Vineyard 50 Plus event is Sept. 24|
Sample wines and enjoy listening to live music during an outdoor event being offered in late September by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
This program is called An Evening at Baltimore Bend Vineyard , and will include transportation to this family owned and operated business located about an hour and one-half east of Kansas City near Waverly, Mo. Participants will enjoy a performance by the Harvest Moon Band, including music from the 1960s to today. Travelers are asked to bring a picnic dinner and $5 cash for the cover charge. This program will leave at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, from Antioch Park 6501 Antioch, Merriam, and return at approximately 11:30 p.m. that evening. The cost is $19 per person for Johnson County residents or $21 per person for nonresidents.
While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
