First of three World War II Living History programs is Aug. 16
POSTED: 07/28/2011

This program will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at the Tomahawk Ridge Community Center, 11902 Lowell, Overland Park This series is meant to bring history alive through the true stories of those who lived through it. Other sessions in this series include one on the Battle of Okinawa, which will take place on Oct. 11 at Tomahawk Ridge, and a session on the Battle of the Bulge, which will take place on Nov. 8 at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood, Roeland Park. Each program will last about 90 minutes and is free. Preregister by calling (913) 826-3160. Search for the keywords "historical presentation" to find these programs in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.

While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.

The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For updated program listings, visit the District's website at www.jcprd.com.
