|Next JCPRD Activities catalog available after June 27, to cover programs from August through December|
This issue will cover JCPRD programs and events offered between August and December and continues several major changes to the publication, including: a change to three issues per year from four; reorganization into an age-based format, reincorporation of 50 Plus programs which were previously published separately; and the inclusion of articles and features pertaining to JCPRD offerings, facilities, and parks. This issue also features the JCPRD's 2010 Annual Report.
The 92-page publication lists more than 500 programs offered by the District though December, plus fall and early winter special events including , a Roeland Park Recreation Complex Open house, Fall Hayrides, Kansas Pioneer Girl Day, the Big Bad Pumpkin Race, Haunted Kansas, Tellebration 2011, the Mildale Farm Fall Fest, Fall Trout Stockings, Breakfast with Santa Programs, a Winter Solstice Celebration, and more. Program offerings range from arts and crafts to sports to nature activities and include leagues, classes, seminars, workshops, and trips. Included are programs for toddlers through senior adults. Registration for classes in the next catalog will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 27. The majority of programs start on or after Aug. 1.
Activities is mailed out to approximately 25,000 past participants who have taken part in a District program within the last year. Catalogs will also be available at Johnson County Library Branches, community centers, various businesses, and at District locations.
Updated JCPRD program listings and 24-hour online registration are available on the District's website at www.jcprd.com. Look for August through December program listings to be online the week of June 27 as well.
The next issue of Activities will be available in late November, will cover programs and events for the months of January through March 2012, and will also include a Guide to JCPRD Parks and Facilities.
