|Take Me Out to the Ballgame 50 Plus day trip set for April 28|
Sure to score a home run with baseball fans, this trip is called Take Me Out to the Ballgame and will allow participants to tour areas not normally open to the public, including the dugout, press box, and interview room. Learn about Kansas City's finest players and experience sports history at the Royals Hall of Fame. The group will stop for lunch at Sports Radio 810 Zone on the Country Club Plaza, then tour the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum featuring multimedia displays, hundreds of photographs and other sports artifacts dating from the 1800s through the 1960s, and a museum store. This trip will leave at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28, from Antioch Park 6501 Antioch, Merriam, and return at approximately 4 p.m. that day. The cost is $52 per person and includes lunch.
While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
