|New Love in the Afternoon program for 50 Plus features great music and cuisine|
The events are called Love in the Afternoon. A total of six programs at three locations are being offered in April and June. All programs begin at noon. The first program will take place on April 4 at Shawnee Town Hall, 22602 W. 57th, Shawnee. Another program will take place at this location on June 13. Other dates and locations are: April 6 and June 15 at Atonement Lutheran Church, 9948 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park; and April 12 and June 21 at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 12501 W. 137th St., Overland Park. Search for the keywords "special events" to find these programs in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.
The cost for each two-hour program, including lunch and a show, is $10 per ticket, or season tickets are $50 for all six shows. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling Shawnee Heartland Assisted Living at (913) 248-6688.
While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For updated program listings, visit the District's website at www.jcprd.com.
