Fairy Tale Forest Program for ages 4 & 5 kicks off Spring Time Series at Ernie Miller Nature Center
POSTED: 03/09/2011

The programs are called the Spring Time Series and are for ages four and five. These programs are meant as an opportunity for participants to enjoy nature on Saturday morning as spring is budding all around. Your child will have fun while learning about natural and cultural concepts from a park naturalist. Perform a catalog search for the keyword "preschool " to find these programs in the District's catalog and online listings.

The programs can be taken separately or as a package. If taken separately, the cost for one 90-minute session is $14 per person for Johnson County residents or $15 for non residents. The package cost for three sessions is $37 for Johnson County residents or $41 for nonresidents. Because space is limited preregistration is required.

The first program in the Spring Time Series is called Fairy Tale Forest and will take place on April 2 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Participants will hear fairy tales and celebrate spring like the fairies. Activities will include a guided exploration of the park in search of the magic of the changing season, a reading of The Frog Prince, looking for real frogs in the nearby pond, building a fairy garden, and designing a creative craft to take home. Other programs in the Spring Time series include a Flights of Fancy on April 16, and Arbor Day Celebration on May 7.

The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, see the District's website at www.jcprd.com.
