New Altered Art classes offered for youth and adults
POSTED: 12/22/2010

Both classes will take place at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood, Roeland Park, which currently has a display showing potential participants what they can expect. The cost for either program for three two-hour lessons is $41 per person for Johnson County residents or $45 per person for nonresidents. Search for the keyword "art" to find these programs in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings. For supply lists, call (913) 826-3163.

Adult Altered Art is for ages 18 and older. This program promises creativity at its best as participants will recycle lots of old items into new works of art. Anything from old sweaters to pots and percolators can be used. This program will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday beginning Jan. 11.

Youth Altered Art is for ages eight through 14 and will let participants recycle old toys and other items into new works of art. Anything and everything from a Slinky® to Legos®, to buttons off of a sweater can be used. This program will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday beginning Jan. 15.

The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the District's website at www.jcprd.com.
