|Roeland Park Aquatic Center offers special open swim times for holidays|
The facility, which is located at 4843 Rosewood just east of the Roeland Park Community Center, will offer open swimming from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 20-23 and 28-30. Individual admission to the Roeland Park Aquatics Center for ages three and up is $6 for Roeland Park residents and $6.50 for nonresidents of the city. Individual admission for ages 60 and older is $5 for Roeland Park residents and $5.50 for nonresidents of the city. Season and annual passes are also available.
The aquatic center will be closed on Dec. 24-25, 31, and Jan. 1.
The facility features an air-supported dome covering an inverted C-shaped 50-meter pool. The pool has a zero-depth entry and a maximum depth of 13 feet. Other features include: a 25 yard by 25 meter competitive area; four 50-meter swimming lanes; one- and three-meter diving boards; a drop slide; an area with sprayers; and a bath house with lockers and a family change area.
The facility is owned by the City of Roeland Park and operated by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
