|Experience An Evening on the Prairie at TimberRidge Adventure Center on Nov. 5|
The program is called An Evening on the Prairie and will take place beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5 at the TimberRidge Adventure Center. Participants will listen for nocturnal creatures like howling coyotes, canoe across a pond to the chorus of frogs, and silently stalk hooting owls along the edge of the prairie. Weather permitting, there will be an opportunity to view the stars and watch for meteors in the dark prairie sky. The program will conclude around a campfire with a cup of hot cider and storytelling. Participants should dress for the weather and bring a flashlight. Perform a catalog search for the keyword "adventure" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities catalog and online listings.
Due to rough trails and darkness, this program is recommended for ages 10 and older. The cost for one two-hour session is $11 per person for Johnson County residents or $12 per person for nonresidents. Preregistration is required.
TimberRidge is located at 12300 South Homestead Lane, Olathe, accessible via an entrance which is separate from and south of the main entrance to Kill Creek Regional Park.
