POSTED: 12/04/2013
Want to twist, dodge, and attack with a different kind of sporting event between the holidays this year?

The Johnson County Park & Recreation district is offered the first-ever Bah Hum Bug Blitz Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 28. The event will take place beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Okun Fieldhouse and will include a Teenage Division for ages 15 to 17, and Adult Division for ages 18 and older. It is open to men’s, women’s, and coed teams. The format is a three-game guaranteed tournament which ends as a single-elimination tourney. Members of the winning team will receive T-shirts. There will even be a Bah-Hum-Bug gift exchange where participants can re-wrap and exchange Christmas gifts they didn't like for another gift from our collection.

This event is open to both teams and individuals. The cost for each six-member team (up to 10 per roster) is $80 or $13 per individual. The registration deadline for this event is 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26.

Okun Fieldhouse is located within the Mid-America Sports Complex 20000 Johnson Drive, Shawnee. For more information or to register, contact the adult sports coordinator at (913) 826-2900.
