Weight Loss Challenge program begins in late August and early September
POSTED: 08/04/2010
This 12-week program involves hour-long meetings to discuss proper nutrition, improving eating habits, and customizing your calorie and protein intakes to match body composition. This information is meant to help participants lose weight and keep it off. Each week, participants will weigh-in and consult with the coaches who help along the way by offering various meal replacement options to help reach the ideal body weight and composition. Each participant will receive personalized coaching as well as a private and non-intrusive wellness evaluation.

Prize money will be paid out after the twelfth week. Previous contests have ended with an average weight loss of over 19 pounds and more than 10 inches per person with many participants losing much more! Winnings have ranged from $450 to $1,000 and are dependent on the number of participants. Perform a catalog search for the keyword "nutrition" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.

Two different class times are being offered. One will meet at 6:15 p.m. on Monday starting Aug. 30, while the other will meet at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday beginning Sept. 1. Both will meet at Midwest Nutrition, 11836 Quivira Road, Overland Park. The cost for 12 60-minute sessions is $44 for Johnson County residents or $49 per person for nonresidents.
