|Art Fest deadline nears for Johnson County artists|
Sponsored by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District, Art Fest is open to artists currently residing in Johnson County who are 21 years of age or older. The exhibition is limited to original, wall-mounted art executed within the past two years.
For a single entry fee of $25 artists may submit up to three works of art for consideration. Only one piece of art per artist may be selected into the exhibition.

The artists selected for the exhibit will be competing for over $4,000 in prizes and awards. There will be $1,000, $750 and $500 cash prizes awarded, as well as $2,000 in purchase awards for art placed on permanent display in Johnson County Park and Recreation District facilities.
Marcus Cain, Curator of the Kansas City Jewish Museum and Epsten Gallery in Overland Park, will serve as juror for the exhibit. The Art Fest Organizing Committee consists of Randy Knight, A. J. LoScalzo, Alberta McGrath, and Nancy Wallerstein.
All of the pieces on display at Art Fest will be available for purchase. There will be no admission charge to the exhibit which will be open for public viewing during the Nature Center’s regular hours: 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 12:30 pm. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. The exhibit will be closed on Veteran’s Day, Thursday, November 11.
