|Beginning Adult/Teen Swim Instruction offered beginning July 19|
Beginning and intermediate Adult/Teen Swim Lessons are for adults 16 and older. Instruction will be given in water safety skills, buoyancy, basic swimming, and breath control. This class is designed for adults with little or no swimming experience. Perform a catalog search for the keywords "swim instruction" to find these programs in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.
Classes are offered at five times at three locations. All classes take place Monday through Thursday for two weeks beginning July 19. At the Roeland Park Aquatic Center, 4850 Rosewood, Roeland Park, one class is offered at 9 a.m., while another takes place beginning at 7:15 p.m. at the Prairie Village Pool, 7720 Mission Road, Prairie Village, one class begins at 9 a.m., while another begins at 6:10 p.m. The final program is offered at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, 12701 W. 67th St., Shawnee, beginning at 3:30 p.m. The cost any of these classes for six 30-minute lessons is $48 per person for Johnson County residents or $53 for nonresidents. These classes are scheduled for eight sessions with two days being built-in make-up sessions. If no make-up sessions are necessary, two days are bonus lessons.
