Red Hat Night set for The Theatre in the Park's July 16 performance of
POSTED: 06/23/2010
This Red Hat event at the theater will take place on Friday, July 16. In addition to the performance itself, which is set in the Midwest of the 1950’s and features the great songs of Elvis Presley, this program will include a catered picnic dinner. Participants need only bring their blankets and chairs. This event will begin at 7 p.m. The cost for this three-hour event is $20 per person. For more information or to register, call (913) 782-1878. Perform a catalog search for the keywords "special event" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.

The story of All Shook Up follows Chad, a hip-swiveling, guitar-playing roustabout who was just released from prison. In a dreary little town, he meets a young mechanic named Natalie and influences all of the town’s residents and their relationships with each other. Romantic complications abound as secret crushes, new feelings, forbidden match-ups, and people pretending to be something or someone they are not add to the twists and turns as everyone searches for true love. Featured songs include “Jailhouse Rock,” “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Roustabout,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “It’s Now or Never,” “Can’t Help Falling In Love,”“Blue Suede Shoes,” “Love Me Tender,” and others.

While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
