JCPRD Basketball Camp for grades K-8 begins June 28
POSTED: 06/11/2010
Basketball camp will take place at the Okun Fieldhouse, located within the Mid-America West Sports Complex, 20200 Johnson Drive, Shawnee. Camp will emphasize the individual skills of passing, dribbling, and shooting. Participants will practice these skills and be challenged to meet their maximum performance. Even though hard work is a necessity, each session will also have its share of fun and smiles. As much as possible, participants will be divided into groups based on age.

The camp director for this program is Jeff Boschee, who is currently the Boys Varsity Coach for the Barstow High School in Kansas City, Mo. Boschee was a four-year started for the University of Kansas under former KU Coach Roy Williams from 1998 through 2002. He has played professionally in the USBL, ABA, and Europe. Other camp staff will include area high school varsity basketball players.

A camp T-shirt is included with the program. Perform a catalog search for the keyword "basketball" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.

Camp sessions will take place Monday through Wednesday June 28 through 30. Basketball Camp for participants in Kindergarten through second grade will meet at 9 a.m. The cost for three 90-minute sessions is $70 for Johnson County residents or $77 for nonresidents.
