|Intro to Facebook® program begins Nov. 27 at MRCC|
Learn how to share information and pictures with your friends and family using social media during a program being offered in late November by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
Intro to Facebook® is the name of this program, which will provide guidance on setting up a Facebook® account enabling participants to keep up with others on the web. Working knowledge of keyboard and mouse is required. Although a laptop is not required for this class, bring a laptop with Wi-Fi capability for hands-on learning. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 Plus and then under enrichment and special interests. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “computers.”
Intro to Facebook® will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty, Overland Park. The cost for one three-hour session is $33 per person for Johnson County residents or $36 per person for nonresidents. Advance registration is required.
While the JCPRD's 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District's Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the District's website at www.jcprd.com.
