|Artists sought for Summertime Arts & Crafts Festival in Antioch Park on May 15|
The Summertime Arts & Craft show is a program of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District and is overseen by Fine Arts Coordinator Marilyn Lyons. This annual event is held in conjunction with the City of Merriam’s Turkey Creek Festival. The arts and craft show is one highlight of a fun-filled day which attracts people from all over the Kansas City metropolitan area. Other festival events include a pancake breakfast, parade, children’s activities, specialty
food vendors and live music.
Invited are artists of original works including pottery and ceramics, jewelry, floral arrangements, home decor, woodworking, paintings, wearable art, and more. No commercial products, food, resale items, or flea market articles are allowed. Entry applications should include a clear photo of items to be exhibited as well as a separate photo showing the display setup. Information packets containing vendor space assignments, maps, set up instructions, etc., will be mailed out the week of May 3.
The entry fee is $65 for a 12-by-12 foot lawn space. There is a $5 late fee for registrations received after April 30 and no registrations will be accepted after May 10. Exhibitors are responsible for providing their own tables, chairs, and display surfaces. Electricity is not available. This is an outdoor event - come prepared for inclement weather. The Turkey Creek Festival Committee reserves the right to alter or cancel the event.
