|Friendsgiving + Bingo event is Nov. 7 at Roeland Park Community Center|
Bring your friends, a side dish to share, and be prepared for after dinner fun when an event called Friendsgiving + Bingo is presented by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District in early November.
Built around the idea that Friendsgiving is like Thanksgiving, but with your friends, this event will feature 12 games of bingo following dinner. JCPRD will provide the main course and participants are asked to bring a side dish adequate to share with at least four people. Winners of each game of bingo will receive the fixings for parts of their own Thanksgiving dinner and the winner of every fourth game will take home a turkey!
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under 50 plus and then under special events. In the printed catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “bingo.”
Friendsgiving + Bingo will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park. The cost for one two-and-one-half-hour program is $15 per person. Preregistration is required.
While the JCPRD’s 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District’s Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
The JCPRD Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the district’s website at www.jcprd.com.
