|Fire Restrictions Lifted in JCPRD Parks|
Fire restrictions implemented in Johnson County Park and Recreation District parks in late July have now been lifted.
The restrictions were implemented by the JCPRD is response and in accordance with a burning ban for unincorporated areas of the county issued recently by Johnson County Officials. The county's fire ban was formally rescinded on July 15 due to a change in local weather condition and in response to recommendations by local fire chiefs.
With the lifting of restrictions, the District's regular rules and regulations are back in effect. For more information, call Bill Cobb, Superintendent of Parks & Golf Courses, at (913) 438-7275 Voice, or (913) 831-3342 TDD.
JCPRD facilities which had been affected by the restrictions included: Shawnee Mission Park, Antioch Park, Heritage Park, Mill Creek Streamway Park, Ernie Miller Park, Stanley Park, Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park, Sunflower Nature Park, Kill Creek Park, and the Tomahawk Recreation Complex.
