POSTED: 05/16/2008
Paper Airplanes and Soap Bubbles are two favorite outdoor summer activities and the topics of a program for youth being presented by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District

Bubble Makers and Airplane Excitement is an opportunity for participants to use a variety of common household items such as coat hangers, plastic six-pack holders, straws, and more, to create bubbles. Participants will also create a variety of paper airplanes. Search for the keyword "art" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.

This program is for children ages five to eight and will take place under the big sycamore trees at the Tomahawk Recreation Complex, 17501 Midland Drive, Shawnee. This program is offered at 3:30 p.m. on June 11. The cost for one 60-minute session is $5 per person for Johnson County residents or $6 for nonresidents.

The JCPRD's ACTIVITIES catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pick-up at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, see the District's website at
