|Girls Volleyball Camp begins June 9 in Shawnee|
Registrations are now being taken for a Girls Volleyball Camp being offered by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
This program is for girls entering grades three through nine during the 2008-2009 school year and will stress the basic theories used in the game of power volleyball. This will include basic offensive/defensive strategies and skill development. Participants will be divided into groups based on age and ability. Staff for this program consists of area high school volleyball coaches. Search for the keywords "volleyball camp" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.
Play begins June 9 and will take place at the Okun Fieldhouse at the Mid-America West Sports Complex, 20200 Johnson Drive, Shawnee. A session for grades three through six will begin at 9 a.m., while a session for grades seven through nine will begin at 1 p.m. The cost for four three-hour sessions is $65 per person for Johnson County residents or $72 for nonresidents.
