|Learn to Dive Level 1 & 2 classes offered for youth beginning June 9|
Looking to participate in a challenging and fun activity this summer. The Johnson County Park and Recreation District is offering two levels of Learn to Dive classes this summer.
Offered are Learn to Dive Level 1 and Level 2. Both are for ages five and older and both take place at the Roeland Park Aquatic Center, 4843 Rosewood, Roeland Park. Both include 3-meter training and require that participants have completed Level 3 swimming. Search for the keyword "diving " to find these programs in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.
Level 1 is an introductory course which will emphasize basic diving fundamentals in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Skills to be presented include front and back takeoffs, as well as forward and back dives. This class will meet at 10:10 a.m. Monday through Thursday beginning June 9. The cost for eight 45-minute lessons is $48 for Johnson County residents or $53 for nonresidents.
Level 2 is designed to build upon the beginning skills and introduce divers to new skills including inward dives, front and back somersaults, and basic twisting skills. This class will meet at 11:05 a.m. Monday through Thursday beginning June 9. The cost for eight 45-minute lessons is $49 for Johnson County residents or $52 for nonresidents.
