|Beginning Adult Swim Lessons offered beginning June 4|
Adults who want to become safe in or around the water can do so through a class being offered by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
Beginning and intermediate Adult Swim Lessons are for adults 16 and older. Instruction will be given in water safety skills, buoyancy, basic swimming, and breath control. This class is designed for adults with little or no swimming experience. Search for the keywords "swim instruction" to find these programs in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.
Classes are offered at two times and locations, both starting on June 9. All classes take place Monday through Thursday for two weeks. One program is offered at 9 a.m. at the Roeland Park Aquatic Center, 4843 Rosewood, Roeland Park. Another program is offered at 7 p.m. at the Prairie Village Pool, 7720 Mission Road, Shawnee. The cost for either class for eight 45-minute lessons is $48 for Johnson County residents or $53 for nonresidents.
