T-Ball and Saturday T-Ball offered for youth
POSTED: 05/07/2008

Separate T-Ball and Saturday T-Ball programs for ages five through seven are being offered by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District beginning in early June. Search for the keywords "baseball clinic" to find these programs in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.

T-Ball provides an opportunity for girls and boys to actively participate in learning the game of baseball under conditions favorable for their age. This seven-week supervised program is designed to teach basic skills in fielding, throwing, and batting, and to further their knowledge of the game of baseball. The T-Ball program allows group instruction with structured league play starting halfway through the season. JCPRD T-Ball is offered at three locations: Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park, 12500 W. 119th, Overland Park, Fields C & D; Indian Hills Middle School, 6400 Mission Road, Prairie Village, northeast field; and Shawnee Mission Park, 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee, east field. Depending on time and location, the program meets twice per week in either a Monday and Wednesday or a Tuesday and Thursday format. Programs begin on June 2 and 3. The cost for 14 50-minute sessions is $50 for Johnson County residents or $55 for nonresidents.

A noncompetitive and instructional Saturday Youth T-Ball program is also being offered at Stoll Park, Field C, for ages five through seven with a choice of starting times at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m. or 11 a.m beginning June 7. The cost for seven 60-minute sessions is also $50 for Johnson County residents or $55 for nonresidents.
