|Grandma and Me Tea Party set for Sept. 7 at Roeland Park Community Center|
Kids can celebrate Grandparents' Day by bringing grandma (and grandpa too) to the Roeland Park Community Center for tea during an event in early August being presented by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
Grandma and Me Tea Party is the name of this event, which is for all ages and will take place on Saturday, Sept. 7. Participants will decorate placemats, play games, enjoy finger sandwiches, and sip on tea and lemonade during this afternoon event. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under fun for all and then under special events. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “family fun.”
This two-hour event will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park. The cost for this two-hour event is $10 per person for Johnson County residents or $11 per person for nonresidents. A family rate for four persons or less is also available for $27 for Johnson County residents or $30 for nonresidents. Preregistration for this program is required by Sept. 4.
The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the District's website at www.jcprd.com.
