|Summertime Arts & Crafts Festival is MAY 18|
Arts and crafts of all types will be on display when the Johnson County Park and Recreation District conducts its seventeenth annual spring arts and crafts show, The Summertime Arts & Crafts Festival.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 18, under and around the canopy at Antioch Park's Building A, 6501 Antioch Road. Invited are artists of original works including drawing, painting, sculpture, fiber arts, woodcarving, jewelry, pottery, and folk arts.
This will be the Fifth year the arts and crafts festival is held in conjunction with Merriam's Turkey Creek Festival, also in Antioch Park on May 18. Other Festival activities will include: a pancake feed from 7 to 11 a.m., the Thriller 5 Kilometer Run at 8 a.m., a parade at 11 a.m., free concerts, a petting zoo, hands-on arts and crafts for kids, and paddleboat rides.
