|Travel Around the World in Kansas City with Day Trip on Oct. 10|
Experience the diversity of our city during a day trip being planned in early October by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
Around the World in a Day is the name of this trip, which will take place on Thursday, Oct. 10. Participants will start at the River Market where they'll delight in a French chocolate croissant at the Bloom Bakery Company. Next, they'll stroll over to Al-habashi Mart, which offers a variety of Middle Eastern food items including nuts, dried fruits and spices. Lunch will take place at BoLing’s Chinese Restaurant at the River Market. After lunch, it's off to Kansas City, Kansas, to visit the Strawberry Hill Museum and explain the cultural center, which is full of displays from countries including Croatia, Ukraine, Poland, and Slovakia. Finally, journey to Browne's Marketplace to shop for Celtic gifts at this "little piece of Ireland in America's heartland."
