|Sailboarding Class Offered for Ages 16 and Older beginning July 14|
Experience the excitement of surfing, combined with the speed of sailing while learning the Olympic sport of sailboarding through a summer class being offered by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
A sailboard is similar to a surfboard with a sail attached. The class is called Sailboarding and is for ages 16 and older. Class will take place at the Heritage Park Lake Marina, 16050 Pflumm Road, Olathe.
Instruction manuals and sailboards for the class are provided. Basic swimming skills are required. Master sailboard instructor is Park Ranger Andy Shoman. Search for the keyword "boating" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities catalog and online listings.
This class takes place on a consecutive Saturday and Sunday beginning July 14. Participants have a choice between sessions beginning at 8 a.m., and a session which starts at 1 p.m. The cost for two four-hour sessions is $53 per person for Johnson County residents or $58 for nonresidents.
