|Galyans Second Annual Outdoor Skills Day Is April 27 at New TimberRidge Adventure Center|
Learn survival tips for the wilderness through a program being offered by Galyan's Sports & Outdoor Adventure and the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
The second-annual Galyan's Outdoor Skills Day will take place on April 27 at the new TimberRidge Adventure Center, 12300 South Homestead Lane, Olathe. During this three-hour clinic, participants can take part in archery lessons, fire building, campfire cooking, shelter building, and take an outdoor challenge test. The latest in outdoor gear from Galyan's Sports & Outdoor Adventure will also be on display.
This program is being offered at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. The cost for one three-hour session is $5 per person for Johnson County residents or $6 for nonresidents. Preregistration is required. All participants will receive free, a specially-designed survival skills bandana.
Galyan's Outdoor Skills Day will be the first public program at the TimberRidge Adventure Center, which will be formally dedicated at 10 a.m. on April 27. This 200+ acre facility is part of the Johnson County Park and Recreation District's newest regional park, Kill Creek Park, and will offer a variety of adventure and challenge programming and rental opportunities. TimberRidge Adventure Center has a separate entrance located south of the main entrance to Kill Creek Park.
