This will coincide with the state of Kansas' "Free Fishing Days" in State Parks. The Saturday portion of the event also coincides with the JCPRD's Day in the Park event at Shawnee Mission, Heritage and Kill Creek parks. read more

May 18 is the initial deadline for the 28th Annual Shawnee Mission Triathlon. The event will take place Sunday, July 8, in Shawnee Mission Park, 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee. Entries will be limited to the first 700 entries. The event typically fills three weeks prior to race day. As a result of this event, Shawnee Mission Park will not open for public use until noon on this date. read more
