2018 KC Passport to Adventure Kick-off at Bass Pro Shop

Visit booths and hands-on activities, then pick up your 2018 Passport to Adventure that you can take to area natural and historical sites throughout the year and get it stamped. Juliette’s Dream at Ernie Miller Nature Center

Celebrate 106 years of Girl Scouts with a salute to the founder, Juliette Gordon Low, with an original presentation honoring her life. Juliette’s dream was to build bridges of understanding to promote world peace and international friendship! Her heart’s desire was for girls to have opportunities to develop courage, confidence and friendships. Join us for a special appearance of Juliette herself as she describes her childhood favorites and inspirations. All children must be accompanied by one adult chaperone per group of five. Reservations are required. This inspiring event is just $5 per person, including adults, $7 day of event. Easter Bunny’s Extreme Egg Hunt at Antioch Park - Shelter 3 (4 Times)

The Easter Bunny has taken the traditional egg hunt to the extreme! The only way to find those prize-filled eggs is with a Garmin GPS (Global Positioning Systems) unit! The event begins at Antioch Park Shelter #3. Lunch and pictures with the Easter Bunny included! Four start times are available, each session is two hours. In case of inclement weather conditions, the event rescheduled date is Sunday, March 25. This fun family event is $13 per person, $15 nonresidents, or $31 for a family of four or less, $34 nonresidents. Register online at by March 20. Create an account then search for 41704 for the 10 am session, 41705 for 10:30 am, 41706 for 11 am, or 41707 for the 11:30 am session.

50 Plus Brochure & Bingo at Roeland Park Community Center

Meet other adults interested in hearing about JCPRD’s new 50 Plus Programs which will debut in the May-August My JCPRD Activities catalog. The coordinators who plan these programs also want to hear what activities you are most interested in! Four games of themed bingo will be played for JCPRD gift cards. Dodge Town Grand Opening Celebration

WANTED: All cowboys and cowgirls. We need us a posse to help cut this here ribbon on the newly reconstructed Dodge Town in Antioch Park. Round up is at 10:30 am, followed by lunch at the chuckwagon. Ya’ll are sure to get yer fill as we’ll be serving up little doggies, chips, a cookie, and a cool beverage (water) to wet your whistle! Be sure to visit the jail and meet the Marshal as he’ll be handing out special deputy badges. We hope you can mosey on over to Dodge Town and join us! Children are encouraged to dress the part, but not required.

Art in the Park at Ernie Miller Nature Center

Walk the trails and watch as local artists complete beautiful works of art “en plein air” (in plain air) at Ernie Miller Park. Stop by the nature center to vote on your favorite one. Admission is free for spectators. Artists must pre-register by March 30 and will receive an information packet prior to the event. The entire work of art must be completed in the park during this event. In case of inclement weather, artwork may be created indoors using window views. Winners will have their artwork displayed at the nature center, and a postcard created of their masterpiece will be distributed at the nature center. Winners will be announced at noon. For more information, call Outdoor Education Specialist Andrea Joslin (913) 826-2806. To register as an artist, click on the Register for Activities button and proceed with a barcode search for 41293 (ages 15 & older) or 41294 (ages 14 & under). Youth artists are $10, $11 nonresidents and adult artists are $15, $17 nonresidents.

Trucks & Big Rigs for Kids at The Theatre in the Park

Have you ever wondered what the inside of that big rig or tractor looks like? Do you have a child who loves trucks? Bring them out to the park to explore trucks, tractors, construction, and city vehicles up close. Crawl, climb, and sit in the driver’s seat and talk with the real life operators of these vehicles. Be one of the first 100 children and get a free construction worker hat! Suggested donations of $10 per vehicle will be accepted and proceeds from this event benefit JCPRD Special Populations/Special Olympics.

Behind-the-Scenes Museum Tour at JoCo Arts & Heritage Center

Interact with museum staff as you learn why we collect, how we collect, and the importance to our local community. Our collection features over 17,000 3D objects and over one million images. The Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center holds the museum’s two-dimensional collection, including manuscripts, maps, photographs, and quilts. To schedule a separate time for your group of six to 12 people, or a tour for youth, please call (913) 826-ARTS. This informative event is $10 for adults or $9 for seniors (60+), $8 for children and includes museum and KidScape admission. Museum members are $4 - members call to receive discount.
