**FULL** - Triathlon: Olathe Medical Center Women’s (Ages 15 & Older)
Saturday, September 11, 7:30 am, Kill Creek Park - The 3rd annual Women’s Triathlon at Kill Creek Park (33159 W. 117th Street, Olathe) will consist of a 0.31 mile (500 meter) swim, followed by a 10.6 mile bike and a 2.6 mile run. Teams can consist of two or three person teams in these categories: family, friends, corporate, and club. This event is limited to 400 participants so early registration is strongly encouraged. .About JCPRD's Early Childhood Development Centers
Our Centers are fully licensed by the State of Kansas Department of Health and Environment. A non-refundable $30 enrollment fee per child will reserve a space in early education programs. For curriculum information and classroom appointments, call Center Directors listed on this page.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION:
1. Successful completion of toilet training is a requirement for participation in the 3-5 year old program and full-day child care.

2. Children must meet the specified minimum age requirement by first date of attendance.

3. Proof of age is required at first class.

4. Emergency Medical Release, Health Assessment, and Personal Data Sheet must be on file the first day of attendance. Health papers can be downloaded at www.jcprdchildcare.com

5. Fees must be paid in advance of participation directly to Program Directors at the Centers.

.ABOUT OUR GYMNASTICS CLASSES
Our programs are designed to provide your child with the essential foundation for all physical movement. Skilled and experienced instructors understand the importance of physical development in children, such as flexibility, strength, coordination, agility, and endurance. Starting with basic elements, students are taught, through proper progression, ever increasingly higher levels of skill. Staff will advise and make every attempt to see that your child is in the class most suited to his/her individual ability. Parents are welcome to observe class. Suitable clothing: sweat pants, T-shirt, leotard, or gym shorts (void of any buckles, buttons, snaps or zippers). Socks are optional.

Current attendance in classes does not guarantee space in upcoming session. You must re-enroll.

.Computers: Youth Tech, Inc.
Youth Tech is a progressive, interactive computer camp that focuses on providing enrichment opportunities to students in the world of computers. With a caring environment at the core of camp values, Youth Tech strives to create a positive learning community that encourages creativity, fun and academic excellence. Instructors are all certified teachers and have taught at various levels of educational institutions.
   

.Discount on Gymnastics Classes
Students who register for more than one class a week are eligible for a 20% discount on the second class. Families with two or more children enrolled in a class are eligible to receive a 10 percent discount on the second child and a 20 percent discount on any additional children. Those requesting these discounts must register through our Registration Office. Please call (913) 831-3359 for details. These discounts apply only to Gymnastics classes.
   

.Exercise, Fitness & Health - Punch Card Program (Ages 50 Plus)
Most fitness classes are punch card only. These cards allow you the flexibility to choose and try any and all fitness classes. Stop by or call any of our 50 Plus offices for more information or to purchase a punch card. Five and ten punch cards expire three months from date of purchase. Twenty punch cards expire four months from date of purchase. Class times are subject to change. Classes are 50 minutes in length and on-going with no specific start date unless otherwise stated in class description. Please call your location choice prior to attending your first class.

Purpose:
Level 1 - Provides experiences and activities for children to-

• Learn to ask for permission before entering the water
• Learn how to enter and exit the water in a safe manner
• Feel comfortable in the water
• Explore submerging to the mouth, nose, eyes and completely
• Explore buoyancy on the front and back position
• Change body position in the water
• Learn how to play safely
• Experience wearing a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket

Purpose:
Level 2 - Builds upon the skills learned in Level 1 and provides experiences and activities for children to-

• Establish expectation for adult supervision
• Learn more ways to enter and exit the water in a safe manner

.Preschool Childcare: Early Childhood For 3-5 Year Olds
Our Early Education Centers are open from 7 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Each center features a morning preschool component, extended programming for the working parent, daily hot lunch, early afternoon quiet period, and late afternoon creative arts and socialization activities. Our program focuses on self-awareness, motor development, self-selected activity, pre-academic skills, and creative arts along with field trips, classroom visitors, and special events. Each Center is equipped with a variety of activity centers that encourage the young child to explore and understand his/her environment. Through the gentle guidance of our caring and experienced teachers, each child is able to achieve realistic goals specific to individual needs. Adventure Walks: Konza Prairie Trail (Ages 50 Plus)
Journey with us to Manhattan, Kan. on a preserve that boasts 8,616 acres of tall grass winding through the Flint Hills. We will hike the nature trail and around the King’s Creek loop for a 4.7 mile or less trek. After, eat at the well-known Little Apple Brewery. Lunch on your own. Depart at 8 am.

Adventure: Kansas City’s Passport to Adventure 2010 (All Ages) Through Oct. 31, Ernie Miller Nature
Gather your family together, and pick up your Passport to Adventure at Ernie Miller Nature Center. Visit participating Kansas City area natural and historical sites, and get your passport stamped each time. Answer the question on the sites’ passport page, and receive a special gift too! Once you have completed the passport, turn it in to the last site visited by Oct. 31 and you will receive a special prize via mail. For more information call (913) 764-7759. Adventure: An Evening on the Prairie (Ages 10 & Older Accompanied by Parent/Guardian)
Listen to the nocturnal creatures at TimberRidge Adventure Center. Canoe across the pond to a chorus of frogs and silently stalk hooting owls along the edge of the prairie. Hear the coyotes howl. Enjoy hot cider as we tell stories by the campfire. Weather permitting, view the stars and watch for meteors in a dark prairie sky. Bring binoculars, flashlight, and dress for the weather. Not recommended for younger children due to rough trails and darkness.

Adventure: Introduction to Tree Climbing (Ages 8&Older, under 18 must have Parent/Guardian on site
Do you have fond childhood memories of climbing trees or want your child to have the same experiences? This is your chance to reach new heights by learning how to ascend and descend trees wearing comfortable climbing harnesses and helmets. All equipment is provided and all knots are tied by staff. Participants should wear long pants and closed toed and heeled shoes. Participants are required to complete medical and liability releases prior to climbing. Aquatics Home School: Pre Competitive Swimming
This is class for a child who has a need for speed while swimming. Developing the 4 competitive strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke & Freestyle) for competition, skills, speed and edurance will be the focus of this program.

Experience the challenging sport of archery at Ernie Miller Park. This clinic is designed to teach safety techniques and basic fundamentals of archery.
